quake3-server software package provides Quake III Arena dedicated server launcher scripts, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install quake3-server
quake3-server is installed in your system.
Make ensure the quake3-server package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep quake3-server *
You will get with quake3-server package name, version, architecture and description in a table
